God of Arid Desert Wandering: A Prayer of Confession

God of arid desert wandering and the unceasing work of abundant harvest, we come here in worship to slow our frenzy, to calm our spirits, and to open our hearts.

Where we have forgotten to notice our blessings, activate our senses.
Where we have been too busy to consider the needs of others, open our hearts.
Where we focus too much on the negative, 
help us to detect the blessing and beauty in what is placed before us.

Cause us to pause with gratitude and thankfulness.
We come today in praise and prayer. Amen.
