The United Church of Canada (also referred to subsequently as “United Church”, “us”, “our”) provides GatheringWorship.ca (referred to herein as “GatheringWorship.ca, “Gathering”, or the “website” or “service”) as a service to you, subject to the following Terms of Use. These terms may be updated by us from time to time without notice to you. We've tried our best to provide accurate information about copyright and licensing, but it's ultimately up to the end user to get proper clearance. You agree that each use of the website is subject to the then existing Terms of Use, including any modifications or amendments made from time to time.
This agreement is for all visitors and subscribers to GatheringWorship.ca. Completing a subscription request and/or use of the website confirms explicit acceptance of these terms. A subscriber is anyone who has completed a transaction requesting a print copy of Gathering magazine and/or access to GatheringWorship.ca, or who has been provided a log in to access the GatheringWorship.ca website.
Our Service
GatheringWorship.ca is an online service to compliment Gathering magazine, which is published four times yearly by The United Church of Canada. Content from each magazine as well additional unique digital content will be published throughout the year on GatheringWorship.ca. This may include text, images, audio, video, digital presentation content, or files for download. The system also contains an extensive database of information about music from across various printed and electronic resources. With the exception of publicly available blog and promotional content, access requires a paid subscription.
Sharing of Access
Each subscriber to GatheringWorship.ca is expected to be a unique individual. Access should not be shared with others. Multiple subscription options are available for purchase and can be purchased as needed by individuals. Each purchase requires a unique e-mail address. You agree to keep your password confidential and will be responsible for all use of your account and password.
Links
GatheringWorship.ca provides links to various other websites, some affiliated with the United Church and some not. The United Church cannot be responsible for and does not endorse the content of websites not under our direct control, and you use such websites at your own risk. You acknowledge and agree that the neither the United Church nor its employees or volunteers are responsible for the availability of such external websites or resources, and do not endorse and are not responsible or liable for any content, advertising, products, or other materials on or available from such websites or resources.
Submitting Content to Gathering
When contributors to Gathering submit their ideas, files, and/or written resources, whether via our online submission form or e-mail, they do so with the understanding that their material will be used by other worshipping communities and thereby give their implicit permission for its use in worship (including reproduction in church bulletins/service materials, including online). Where materials contain or refer to copyrighted materials that would prevent publication without seeking permission from those sources, our contributors have indicated this, and we refer our readers to those copyrighted sources.
AI-Generated Content
AI-generated content relies on the use of artwork, writing, and composition of artists, authors, and composers as the basis for generating content. Therefore, because we cannot practise our due diligence in sourcing content that is generated by AI, Gathering will avoid the use of AI-generated images and material, and we ask that contributors do not submit content that has been in any way generated through AI systems.

To honour our contributors, we require that worship leaders or anyone else using Gathering content credit contributors accordingly. You must include and complete the following statement when using material from Gathering:

Author information is readily present on every page of GatheringWorship.ca.
Subscription Terms
All subscriptions are for a 1-year term. Subscriptions will auto-renew and be charged to the original payment method at the full advertised price annually on the anniversary date. Subscribers will be sent an e-mail reminder to the e-mail address they used to subscribe before a renewal is processed. Should you wish to cancel your subscription or update your payment information, visit UCRDstore.ca and login with your e-mail address and password, and select “Manage Subscriptions.”
Termination of Access or Subscription
Should your subscription lapse due to an invalid or outdated payment method on file, or be revoked, access to the service will be terminated, possibly without warning. If termination is due to violation of these Terms of Service no reimbursement shall be provided for any expenses incurred, and a lifetime ban from accessing the service may be implemented, at our sole discretion. Anyone not terminated for violating these terms can re-subscribe at any time to regain access, though if subscribing with a different e-mail address their “Favourites”, “My Services”, and comments may be lost. All logos, design elements, and content of GatheringWorship.ca are © Copyright The United Church of Canada unless otherwise stated. You agree not to duplicate, replicate, modify, or mimic any or all elements of GatheringWorship.ca. The GatheringWorship.ca website is built on the open-source Drupal platform. All functional and design customizations of the platform beyond those that are publicly shared through Drupal.org are the property of The United Church of Canada or used with permission and cannot be replicated without express written permission.

If you believe that any material contained in this site infringes your copyright, you should notify the United Church of your claim promptly.
