Sustained by the Story: Biblical Telling for Times Like These, the online festival by the Network of Biblical Storytellers Canada, is being held February 2–4, 2024. It features keynote presenter Rabbi Elyse Goldstein and keynote artist Steve Bell. The festival is an exploration of the ways in which sacred story holds a community in times of turmoil, reminding them of their source, their identity, and their ways—and the role of the storyteller in the process. This ecumenical festival is a two-and-a-half-day online series of keynotes and wide-ranging workshops on biblical telling–related topics, such as biblical telling 101, vocal care, telling your own story, biblical telling as spiritual practice, preaching, prison ministry, Godly Play, drawing the Word, choosing words to describe the holy, and Indigenous wisdom. There will be an epic (tag-team) telling of selected texts from the stories of Deuteronomy, a featured performance by Indigenous comedian Sharon Shorty, and worship with singing led by Paul Vasile (Music that Makes Community). The event offers an incredible lineup for biblical tellers, worship leaders, speakers, scripture readers, and Christian educators of every kind.

Registration opens in October 2023. For more information, visit nbscanada.org.
