As we begin a new year, the Gathering editorial team wants to offer our deep gratitude to each of you who take time to submit your prayers, worship materials, worship sparks and ideas, hymns, and reflections. We love opening up new submissions and discovering what you have sent our way.

Gathering relies on worship leaders like you sending in your contributions. There is no other resource quite like it. Most worship resources hire people to create all the worship materials they share. From its beginning in 1974, Gathering has been curated and crafted from the prayers, hymns, and resources that worship leaders choose to send to us.

We try to use everything you send in some way. Sometimes, we save it for future issues. Sometimes, we use it right away in the issue we are creating. In our editing, we seek to remain faithful to what you have offered. Always, we value what you have sent to us: an idea, a prayer, a hymn, a drama or a complete worship service. We know it comes from the heart of your congregation’s worship life and from the love, energy, and time you put in to creating it.
