Reign of Christ Sunday: A Call to Worship

Display or project a picture of Jesus at a door. At the back of the church, have someone give three or more loud knocks, and then declare:

“In the gospel of Matthew, Jesus declares, ‘I was hungry and you gave me food, and I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink.’ As Christians who celebrate the Christ within us, when someone in need knocks on our doors or our hearts, it is up to us to answer that call with the same warmth and caring and love that God bestows on us.”

Three more loud knocks are given.

All sing: VU 395 “Come in, come in and sit down”
